Welcome to
My Marx trains
Hope you enjoy the site
My first Electric train
I got this set for Xmas 1955
It was a J.C. Penney's Special for $9.99
The cars are from my original set.
The B&O locos turned up missing when I returned from the Army
So I acquired these 2 from the Marx Co in late 1960's
and they run as good today as my original set did over 50 yrs ago
My original loco had Automatic coupler on the dummy A unit
The cars are still fairly easy to obtain in both large and 3/16th scale wheels
the B&O Caboose comes in a variety of road numbers is desirable for collectors
The set came with 034 track , 1 switch track,
1 automatic uncoupler track & Transformer with track connector.
I've had plenty of train sets, but this one is still special to me .
A couple of railfans are out to get photos of B&O 62 A-A duo
Some M10000-M10005
Some of my favorite Marx trains are the M10000-M100005
I used to pass these by at Various train shows when I was looking
for Marx deluxe plastic cars and loco's
I never had a set until 2007
Here are a some photo's of a couple that I have Acquired
B&O-Seaboard- Monon pass by Girard station
Linking Marx trains to good old Rock 'n Roll
The Marx yahoo list has had very good discussion about Music and Marx trains,
mentioning the 50th anniversary of the plane crash that took the
lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper.
My favorite singer of all time happens to be the late, great Buddy Holly.
I have been working on a Marx passenger train painted and lettered for the MKT/SLSF
Texas Special. I have never been able to locate the correct decals for that
train, so I have decided to do it up as another MKT streamliner.
And decided to name my first 3 cars of the train for these 3 talented guys.
I did the lettering for these cars on my computer,
but as soon as I get the decals I want to letter the cars like this.
